Bill- Day 1 Craniomaxillofacial Surgery

Met Dr. C.C. Yu; very nice guy, extremely enthusiastic about medicine and craniomaxillary surgery. Thrown right into a mandible surgery. The patient had a length discrepancy in his ascending rami and in his maxilla in the saggital and coronal planes. The docs, broke the mandible off and sawed it to even it out, they also detached the maxilla to shorten it, OUCH! It was a pretty interesting day, I found out a lot: 1. Surgery is pretty awesome, 2. Have to have steady hands, 3. Always, always wear comfy shoes, if possible with thick in soles, your feet will thank you after standing for 5 hours.
